Founding GTM

San Francisco Bay Area · Full time, Hybrid

About Tanagram

Tanagram's mission is to accelerate agentic coding.

We extract engineering learnings buried in codebases, code reviews, incident post-mortems, and Slack chats, turn them into real-time guardrails for coding agents, and double-check them in PRs — helping teams ship faster and avoid disaster.

We're building a small, diverse team of meticulous, high-agency people who care about making software development faster, safer, and more reliable.

About This Role

A hybrid between:

  • Growth hacker
  • PMM/strategist
  • Technical-adjacent operator

Not a BDR role. Not a social media role. Not pure DevRel.

You will own a meaningful slice of GTM from 0 → 1.

This role can grow into Head of GTM or Head of Product Marketing.

Location: San Francisco, hybrid in-person

What You'll Own

Core KPIs

  • High velocity of GTM experiments
  • High-quality inbound (quality > quantity)

Experiment & Learn

  • Fast experiments across Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, communities
  • Messaging × persona × channel tests
  • Landing pages, hooks, loops
  • Analyze + report learnings quickly

Own Positioning & Messaging

  • Refine ICP (starting with Founding CTOs & tech leads)
  • Create messaging frameworks, value props, hooks
  • Improve demo framing and narrative with founders

Create Early Inbound Motion

  • Help organize events engineers care about
  • Messaging tests, founder posts, experiments
  • Seed content for SEO and GEO
  • Organize launches

Establish event strategy

  • Organize and (co-)host our own events, meetups, dinners, etc
  • Find other events, meetups, and conferences that we should be at, and build lists of interesting attendees.
  • (Optional) public speaking at events or conferences

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

  • Consistent experiment → learning loops
  • ICP hypotheses validated or killed
  • Meaningful inbound generated
  • Sharper demo narrative
  • Clear sense of what GTM motions work

You Might Be A Fit If You

  • Move fast

  • Enjoy ambiguity + experimentation
  • Understand dev workflows
  • Are very online in developer communities

  • Are in-tune with how people feel across different interactions

Not A Fit If You

  • Need detailed direction
  • Move slowly
  • Don't like writing
  • Don't like talking to engineers
  • Prefer rigid roadmaps
  • Want strict lane boundaries

Why You'll Love Working Here

All the usual early-stage stuff:

  • Shape GTM from 0 → 1
  • Work directly with founders
  • Have real product + narrative impact
  • Massive autonomy

There's a lot of devtools companies. Many of them look the same, sound the same, feel the same. We think there's an opportunity to differentiate on those dimensions — something that's fun, quirky, a little provactive. Something that doesn't feel like tech-bro AI slop.

We want to build an iconic brand. And maybe we can do that with you.
